BARNETT RESERVOIR & AREA PARKS / CAMPGROUNDS
The Ross Barnett Reservoir is located on 48,000 acres of land about 25 miles southwest of Carthage. The reservoir is 33,000 acres of fish-filled waters and has 105 miles of shoreline, public parks on the water, marinas, and four campgrounds and boundless opportunities for outdoor adventures - fishing, sailing, water-skiing, bird watching, camping, and picnicking. The Leake County Water Park is located 7 miles south of Highway 25 and Highway 16 intersection off Mississippi Highway 25. The Water Park has 33 camp sites with water and electrical hookups and grills, boat launching, open-air pavilion, showers, swimming pool and pool house, restrooms, laundry room, picnicking, on an oxbow lake on Pearl River. Coal Bluff Park is about 14 miles south of the Intersection of Highway 16 and 25. The park has lighted tennis courts, fish pond, playgrounds, swimming pool, volley ball court, 68 camp pads with electricity and grills, primitive camping, restrooms, showers, laundry room, and open air pavilion.
