The 30th annual Independence Day Celebration
in Lena will be held on Wednesday, July 4 beginning at 9am
and conclude by what is promised to be one of Mississippi's
largest fireworks displays at dusk.
The family celebration that began as an ice
cream social today brings over 10,000 people from distant
areas for a homecoming event. An arts and crafts show opens
for business at 9am and will remain open until the last
customer has purchased that unique handmade item.
Barbecue chicken, chicken on a stick,
corndogs, hamburgers, snow cones, ice cream, cold drinks and
other treats will be sold throughout the day under the
pavilion.
